NOTES:
Conversation on Floral Street / Imagine the Swan was falsely attributed to The Zombies when it was actually, according to the liner notes for the Rhino Records release of Odessy and Oracle, White, Argent, drummer Rob Henrit of the band Argent and later of the Kinks, and guitarist Mike Fennely - essentially the first lineup of the band Argent. Rod sang lead vocals on these. She Loves The Way They Love Her and Smokey Day were also recorded by this lineup. Both tracks were subsequently re-done by Colin Blunstone on his solo debut One Year.

  • Mike Longaphie contributed data for The Zombies 1964-67.
  • Dave Modny says: "the version of Time of the Season on the German Return of the Zombies CD is a different version than the New World CD. Whereas, the NW version is pretty much a faithful cover of the original, the Return of the Zombies version is just Colin singing it as a moody ballad with mostly just a piano backing. The New World version was also used on a greatest hits/remake album that Colin made a few years ago. Also, in the late 70s The Zombies (minus Paul Atkinson - w/ Tim Renwick instead) remade She's Not There and I believe, Time of the Season for a Canadian album series called Cruisin 1964 and Cruisin 1968.
  • Alan Karr contributed listings for The Zombies Collection CDs, both volumes.
  • Dave Goldsman added Gigantes del Pop and added to The Zombies featuring ....
  • Bill Mulvihill reports that there are different versions of the New World CD. He says, "Time of the Season is a piano-only performance with a vocal unlike its full blown counterpart on the other CD. The mixing, cadence and instrumentation also differ quite noticeably on almost every song with the exception of Heaven's Gate, which is identical. For instance, in My America, the lead vocal is much more in the background than it is on the Castle recording. I was very suprised at the differences on the various songs and suggest that all Zombies lovers should also purchase this alternate version. Both versions of the "New World" C.D. are equally entertaining."
  • William Jones writes, "Underneath the track listing it indicates that "Walking In the Sun" is an instrumental track when, in fact, Conversation on Floral Street is the only instrumental on that CD. This song is discussed again further down on your page. Walking In The Sun appears on Meet the Zombies with vocals."
  • Knut Skyberg notes: " 1. Nothing's changed was first released on the charity album "14" for the Lord Taverner's. Decca LK 4695 - 1965. 2. The world of the Zombies was first released by Decca in 1970 (SPA 85) 3. The See for miles compilation The singles A's and B's only includes I'm going home on vinyl (SEE 30) but not on the CD version (SEE CD 30). On both sleeves She's coming home is listed. 4. The Bunny lake soundtrack version of Rememeber you is completely different from the single version."
  • Kirill Nurski provided info on the Carnaby Records Greatest Hits CD and the entire track listing to the See For Miles E.P. Collection.
  • Yakue Akazaki provided information about Time of the Season, the 3-CD Japanese box set from 1993.
